Briefing Paper on Hydraulic Fracturing to Minister Pat Rabbitte TD from concerned citizens in the North West Region
We had a successful meeting with Minister Pat Rabbitte TD on
15-11-2011. I will pas on minutes when we get them together. Frank
Feighan TD through Pat has secured a link into the EPA for us. The
group consisted of of 5 people from Leitrim Aedin Mc Loughin, Robert
Doyle, Nuala Mc Nulty, Miriam Hennessy and Myself (Eddie Mitchell). I think it was a
successful meeting with Minister Pat Rabbitte and indeed all present
listened and understood our concerns.
We made some progress and although we know that there is a lot of
pressure on to go forward with Hydraulic Fracturing it isn’t part of
government policy yet.
Please read this Paper that we have put together, we have put a lot of
work into it. It has been put together by Leitrim people to illustrate
our concerns. We have not included the minutes as yet so it will
develop a little yet. this will be out soon.
